The Justice Department filed suit this week against California in an effort to overturn a 2017 state law that gives the California first option to buy federal lands put up for sale. The administration also announced that it might revoke the state’s ability to set vehicle emissions standards that are stricter than those in other states. According to EPA administrator Scott Pruitt, “cooperative federalism doesn’t mean that one state can dictate standards for the rest of the country.” Read more here and here.
