The U.S. Supreme Court has asked the Trump administration for its views on a conflict between the railroad industry and Alabama over the state’s tax on diesel fuels. At issue in the long-running litigation is whether the tax conflicts with the federal Railroad Revitalization and Regulatory Reform Act of 1976.
