Dozens of states, counties, and cities have filed lawsuits against opioid manufacturers for harm alleged to have resulted from opioid drugs. U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar recently advised the National Governor’s Association that although Congress has provided $6 billion to combat opioid abuse, state and local governments are “on the front lines of this battle.” Read more here.
