The National Conference of State Legislatures reports that a bipartisan convening of state legislative leaders has issued a declaration that called on the federal government to respect the “constitutional division of powers between the states and federal government, opposed federal preemption of state laws, and urged the federal government to take action to preserve the states’ role as laboratories of democracy.” Read more here.
