The Trump administration is seeking to cut Medicaid funding through the use of block grants to the states. Under the plan, being developed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, each state could ask permission from the federal government for Medicaid funds to be provided in a single lump sum rather than as a percentage of the state’s total costs.
