Professor Brian Galligan of Australia passed away on December 14, 2019. He was Director of the Centre for Public Policy at the University of Melbourne. Previously, he was a professor in the Research School of Social Science at the Australian National University. He was long associated with ANU’s Centre for Research on Federal Financial Relations and then the Australian Centre for Federalism, which he helped launch in 2015. His books, among many other works on Australian and comparative federalism, include Politics of the High Court and A Federal Republic. He also contributed several coauthored articles to Publius: The Journal of Federalism. He was a graduate in Economics and Commerce from the University of Queensland and had a Masters and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Toronto.
