Tyler Dawson reports that Alberta’s opposition party, the United Conservative Party (UCP), has filed in court to oppose the national government’s proposed carbon tax, something that aligns it with Ontario’s opposition to the tax. The government of British Columbia, however, has filed to intervene in support of the tax. The UCP filed the intervention contending that the tax will “upset the balance of federalism and the separation of powers between the federal and provincial governments.” Read more here.
