In 2017, Maine voters passed a referendum requiring the state to expand Medicaid coverage. The governor, however, has refused to do so. This has led to legal wrangling that culminated recently in an order from the state’s high court requiring the governor to submit a Medicaid expansion plan to the federal government. Read more here.
