Does Kashmir Change Expose the Fragility of Indian Federalism?

In an op-ed, Louise Tillin writes that regional autonomy was on the rise in India from 1989 until 2014, when the Bharatiya Janata Party achieved national dominance and began to alter that trajectory. She contends that the recent abrogation of Kashmir’s autonomous status “exposes the fragile set of compromises on which India’s asymmetric federal system rests.” Read more here.
