Insurrection and the Fear of “Patchwork” Positions by the States

Ilya Somin contends that the U.S. Supreme Court’s recent rejection of Colorado’s removal of Donald Trump from that state’s ballot for fear that such action by the states could lead to a “patchwork” of qualified and disqualified candidates is misplaced because, among other reasons, such a patchwork of state rulings could help prevent an unqualified candidate from reaching the White House.
