A nationwide stay against the implementation of a Department of Justice grant program that would have hindered so-called sanctuary cities from receiving federal funds has been affirmed by the U.S. Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. The grant program attempted to restrict disbursement of funds to state and local governments that refused to cooperate with federal law enforcement in the handling of undocumented immigrants.
