Brian Darling contends that although gerrymandering is controversial, federal control over the process of drawing congressional districts would be worse. Darling writes that federal control that interferes “with the people of the states drawing their own congressional districts [would violate] federalism and the 10th Amendment to the Constitution.” Read more here.
