Saying that Iraq should respect its own constitution, which is based on federalism, the prime minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Nechirvan Barzani, has called for Iraq to help rebuild war-torn areas and allow the participation of local communities in that process. Barzani also stated that the federal principles enshrined in the constitution are not being honored: “I must tell you frankly that the idea of federalism and the system haven’t found each other yet in Iraq.” Read more here.
