Federalism Draft Charter Passes Philippines House

The House of Representatives has passed a proposed federalism charter that differs from the one prepared by the consultative committee created by President Rodrigo Duterte. The former head of the consultative committee has declared that the version passed by the House “should go straight to the trash can.” The proposed charter faces additional hurdles in the Senate, where Senate president Vicente Sotto III warns that the body will not have time to take it up. Read more here.
