Federalism and “Bridgegate”

This term the U.S. Supreme Court will hear an appeal stemming from the politically motivated closure of two lanes of the George Washington bridge. The Court will consider the defendants’ argument that federal wire-fraud law should not extend to local matters such as the events underlying the case. Elkan Abramowitz and Jonathan S.
