Dobbs, Sex Discrimination, and the Right to Vote

Paula A. Monopoli writes that the Nineteenth Amendment — the woman suffrage amendment — extends beyond the right to vote to include a ban on sex discrimination. Monopoli contends that, unlike what is suggested in the U.S. Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, “the power to enforce this prohibition [is] in Congress — not state legislatures — as a matter of federalism.” Read more here.
