Robert M. Maxon has published Majimbo in Kenya’s Past: Federalism in the 1940s and 1950s. (Amherst, NY: Cambria, 2017). The book examines the federalism aspirations of European settlers in Kenya who grew anxious about their status in the face of growing post-war pressures for decolonization. In light of Kenya’s adoption of a federal-like constitution in 2010, the book sheds light on federalism’s controversial past in Kenya.
